She had come so far from California but that was the whole point of running away right? Getting to be somewhere new and far away from what she was trying to escape in the first place. Her parents would never expect her to end up in Chicago anyways since everywhere she had gone since she was little had been in California. The beach, the fairs, amusement parks, and places like that were abundant in California. Maybe they were looking there for her, or were they even really looking? She had no idea. It didn’t matter though. There was no way she was going to return home to that horrible excuse for a mother. It was really hard for Jackie to thing bad of anyone but after everything her mother put her through it was hard not to. Would her own father even still want to talk to her? Probably not. She had ruined the family, broken them all up, or at least she broke them up physically. At this point there was no reason to think of her family though so she shook her head as if to get rid of the thoughts. Closing up her laptop she was glad she had at least made somewhat of an acquaintance or friend. A super hero at that! She laughed a little at the thought. At least now it seemed she had someone she could count on. She was all ready dressed and ready for the day as she slid off her bed leaving her laptop underneath her pillow. Walking to the door she slid on a pair of tennis shoes while looking at the mirror to see how she looked. Hair loosely curled, what little makeup she had on was fine, and a nice warm coat for anything the Chicago weather decided to throw at her. It was nice to no longer have to throw on globs of makeup to cover up the bruises. On her travels away from California all of her bruises and cuts had healed. Maybe that was a sign that things were going to look up and get better. She hoped they would. Walking out the door of her dorm she made sure that the door was locked. With her she only had her cellphone, keys, and some cash. There was no point in lugging around a huge purse. Once she arrived in the courtyard she kind of just stood there, unsure of when exactly her super hero would show up. It was a funny thought to think that someone she had just met online was going to meet her in real life. Wasn’t that the type of situation most parents wanted their kids to avoid for fear of the ‘friend’ being a fat forty year old rapist? Yeah, that wasn’t going to happen to Jackie because for one she was no longer in California where that would happen and two she was ready to kick and run if she had to. At the thought she just smirked, only she would think like that. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - STATUS: Done TAGGED: Kholden WORDS: 520 LYRICS: B.O.B. & Haley Williams NOTES: It is done! Kholden was a friendly guy. He loved meeting new people and ever since coming to St. Johns hes had this want to help the kids that came this way. Granted he wasnt any older then any of them, but he just wanted to help. wanted to guide them, to listen. Part of him wanted to stay on and work there, become some kind of councilor for them to come to to assist in getting their lives sorted, but the other part of him had other plans. Plus a lot of his plans also included more then just himself and he whatever was needed there he would change his plans accordingly.
It seemed like more and more people were breaking free from their homes. IT was a shame that things like that happened, sometimes he knew that it was just an over dramatic kid not being able to deal with the downs of teenage hood, but it was the others, the ones that really were having problems they shouldnt be dealing with that seemed to be getting more common. Kholden hated to think that it was getting so bad. He knew it wasnt new that things like that happened all the time but before kids didnt get a chance to run away and if they did they were stuck on their own. Kholden was glad this place existed. Not many people thought of the way ward kids that were just trying to live and being unable to because of their home life.
It seemed they have added on a new one. Jackie. The girl seemed pretty down to earth and he had enjoyed talking to her. She came all the way from california. That in its self is quite a trip. He didnt really know her story but he would make sure if she ever needed to talk she could talk to him. Sometimes telling people that all that was in the past that they could move on now, didnt always help. They might be branching on their own and that may be in the recent past, but its never easy to just leave home. ITs not easy to know that the people that are supposed to care and be there for you arent and that they are the only ones that youve only ever known. Now you're off on your own needing to make it. IT just wasnt right.
Kholden ran a hand through his hair as he shut down his computer and then headed out of the room. He had told her he would meet her in the courtyard and then show her around. he sent a text message to carson telling him he was playing welcoming crew and tour guide and that if he needed him to just text him. It was thankfully a fairly nice day out. No rain which was nice and the temperature was probably around 70. There were a few people coming or going or... whatever they were doing but none seemed to be who he was looking for.
He made his way down the walk his eyes moving over till he finally spotted alone girl. That had to be her.
Jackie?he called out making his way over to her his big friendly grin on his face. hey. he said. Im kholden.. or.. rather.. SUPER AWESUM MAN! he gave a super man stance and then grinned again. good to meet you in personhe said. how you doing?

Maybe she had just arrived there earlier than him because that’s kind of how she was. Not that she arrived on time for things, since this meeting didn’t exactly have a time to meet, but she was a fast person and liked to get things taken care of and done quickly. That made her walk a bit faster at times than most people just because she wanted to get things done. While she stood there she heard someone call out her name and turned to see Kholden with a big grin on his face as he introduced himself. ”Hi Kholden.” she started before smirking at his superman or super hero stance, ”It’s nice to meet you face to face too.” At least her thought of some creepy forty year old man meeting up with her hadn’t come true. Kholden just seemed genuinely nice. It was easy to ready by his body language and just by the way he acted. ”I’m doing fine. Trying to get used to the crazy weather here but I’m glad I was somewhat prepared.” she answered while sticking her hands into her coat pocket. With her luck it might actually begin pouring rain, but she hoped it wouldn’t, at least not until she was inside somewhere and safe from the rain. Usually she loved the rain and enjoyed being out in it and just sticking her tongue out to catch the raindrops like any five year old would have but right now there were other things that occupied her thoughts so doing such a thing wasn’t high on her list. Plus with the few coats she had at the moment she would rather not have one be unusable for any amount of time. ”And how are you?” she asked, ”Save any damsels in distress lately?” He was a little childish, only in the sense that he was a super hero but that was a nice touch. Who didn’t want to befriend a super hero in the first place? ”So what is there to see here in Chicago?” she asked, ”Am I going to get a grand tour or the quick express one?” Jackie only asked out of curiosity, unsure of what there even was in Chicago. All she knew about was St. John’s and even then she didn’t know everything there. Outside of the city she could find her way to a few bus stops and that was it. The rest of Chicago was just the “windy city” to her and she now knew why it was called that. The wind wasn’t terrible though since it hadn’t blown her away just yet. When it got that bad then she would begin to worry a little. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - STATUS: Done TAGGED: Kholden WORDS: 462 LYRICS: B.O.B. & Haley Williams NOTES: :] CREDITS: By me.
