Ashton wasnt so sure what to think as he talked to peter on the chat. But the fact that he was lost and unable to really get his mind to function enough to get him back, well... ashton didnt like that. Really he wasnt sure why it mattered to him. Why ever since hed been talking to peter he was getting more and more into things. That just wasnt like him. It was like he couldnt control it though. Lik ehe didnt realize he was doing it until it happened. He didnt like not having control of himself, but he couldnt seem to stop himself. The more he got to know peter the more he put himself into what went on with peter. He was refusing to admit this of course, or that he actually might... care what happens to peter. Care was such a ... it just wasnt a word he liked to associate with anyone. Hearing a bout alex and about his dad and his current situation he couldnt help wanting to pummel alex to the ground, to knock his dad the fuck out and to .. well do what he was doing now and trying to find out where peter was.
He would just send a cab. Thats what he would do. once peter told him where he was... of course peter didnt know. Peter couldnt say and then.. then peter was leaving. Ashton growled out of frustration and pushed back from his computer. He told himself that fine he wouldnt bother hed just... go do something. He tried to put his mind into other things, writing in his journal... trying to take a nap, watching a movie. None of that seemed to help it wasnt taking his mind off of checking the chat to see if maybe peter got back on. So he smoked a joint. Peter didnt come back though. Not for a while. A couple hours... two and a half to be exact. But he wasnt counting. He didnt check. No sirree. His high had wore off by now and instead he sat, his knee moving up and down and he slammed his hand down on it, his fingers gripping onto it and pushing down to still it, his blunt fingernails digging into it.
Peter still didnt know. Ashtons brows furrowed his lips thinning into a straight line. He looked out the window it was dark. Dark. He shook his head. Peter didnt know where he was, in the city of chicago at night. Day time was bad as it iwas but .. nightime. Ashton was paranoid as fuck in general. Now it seemed worse hearing peter in such a state. He needed to know.. he was going to send a cab to get him. Though instead of saying so he told peter he would come get him. IT was out before he could stop it. Whatever didnt matter. This way incase anyone tried something funny he could beat the shit out of them.
He was out the door the minute he found out, switching to his phone so peter could at least have some kind of base or comfort or .. what the fuck was he thinking. Goddamn what was going on. He scrunched his nose up a bit in disgust at himself at the way he was acting. He managed to flag down a cab, he hated cabs. Sitting in the middle he told the driver where to go. The guy barely understood him. He didnt understand why they didnt have american speaking cab drivers. Seriously. He tapped his fingers on his leg, the driver taking his sweet time. Peter was still there. no one was giving him shit yet, so he says. Ashton tried to get the driver to go faster but he spouted some stuff in whatever language he was speaking and ashton growled making a gesture till finally the guy sped up a little. Not a lot, but very little. Ashton was getting antsy.
FINALLY he saw the bank and then then building. He told peter to get to the road. He was well aware this wasnt supposed to be their first meeting. Part of him... felt bad that it wasnt going to go the way peter wanted it to and he had even given peter the option of not having to see him, but peter said no. Peter had said he wanted ashton there. THey couldnt take this back and this was going to be way more then the meeting peter had hoped for but maybe peter would forget. It seemed hed been having a memory problem.. hed asked peter if he woudl remember meeting him. Peter had assured him he would, but maybe.. mabe he wouldnt and that would be good. It would give him his first meeting back.
Ashton sighed as the cab driver pulled up to the road and ashton scooted to the door telling the cab driver they would be needing him still and not to drive off. He opened the door and got out keeping the door open so they could get back in. Peter...Its me.. Im here... he said letting peter know this was the right cab that yes he was in fact there and he was ashton not some freaky dude that just happened to pull over at the same time he said he would be to peter.

Peter knew that it was probably stupid of him to let his ex boyfriend back into his life because he was scared of some nightmares. He didn't expect anyone else to understand, but he never really tried to explain to anyone else. It surprised Peter that he had told Ashton as much as he had about his father and Alex and the whole thing really. Peter had gone to Alex's house under promise that Alex's father was baking cookies. He decided that hadn't been such a bad idea. It wasn't all that bad really. The cookies were delicious and he had a good time reminiscing with Alex and Alex's father. As the evening began to end Peter ended up sitting outside Alex's house, talking to Ashton on the chat. He wasn't sure why he needed to talk to Ashton so much. Peter had never even met the guy, not really. Not that Peter knew of.
Alex came out to join Peter, sitting next to him on the porch. Things were a little awkward only because Alex had asked him back out again and Peter had told him he'd rather just be friends. He really didn't mind being around Alex at all, but he always thought of the past and what had happened. Peter tried to tell himself that he had forgiven Alex and he had forgiven his brother, but he wasn't sure. He wasn't sure he was ready to take the step and forgive him enough to go into another relationship. The whole thing was fine until Alex leaned in, pulling Peter by the neck into a kiss. Peter pushed away, even though it hurt his neck a bit. There were still some sensitive areas from his last beating. His head and his neck were the two main ones. Peter was no longer in the mood to wait at Alex's house for a cab to pick him up.
Instead, Peter set all walking. He held his breath as he continued to update Ashton about what was happening. Peter still couldn't understand why he needed to tell Ashton things like this. After walking a couple of blocks Peter stopped, staring straight-forward. His hands fell to his sides. Peter didn't blink and didn't respond to the people who were angry with him for stopping suddenly. It was as if he were in a deep, sudden trance. After a couple of minutes Peter shook his head. He looked around, suddenly unfamiliar with where he was. He tried to look for a sign, something at least that would be able to get him on the right track. Peter kept walking and talking to Ashton at the same time. He came to a street sign and repeated the name of the street to himself as he walked until the same thing happened again.
Peter called these little episodes "blanking out". He had never really had any problems with memory or paying attention to things until after his father had cracked a beer bottle over his head. Peter only vaguely even remembered that happening. He gave up trying to find his way on his own. Normally Peter was all about doing things himself, but this time it seemed that he was defeated. Peter asked Ashton to come get him. He almost didn't want to. So much thought and feeling had went into the idea of his and Ashton's first meeting. Peter hadn't expected this turn of events, though. He was only able to give small descriptions of where he was like the pink building and the bank across from it.
All Peter had to do was wait. He leaned against the pink building, his arms wrapped around his waist. It wasn't completely dark yet, but it wasn't exactly daylight either. Peter licked his lips as he watched the different people pass. He knew that Chicago was dangerous at night, but there had been many times when he had to walk the Chicago streets at night. It hadn't bothered Peter until now when he felt the most insecure and vulnerable. Peter just wanted for the cab to come. He wanted to see Ashton so that he knew for sure that he would be safe. Peter wanted to know for sure. He wanted to know that if he blanked out it was okay and he wanted to know that there was someone there to guide him, someone he trusted... even if he had never met him before.
Finally Peter saw a cab pull to the side. He wasn't sure if that was THE cab, but he kept his eye on it. That was when Ashton had told him over the chat to come up to the next street. Peter, of course, listened without thought. He walked briskly toward the street above him, still holding his arms around his waist. As Peter neared the cab, which now had a boy standing outside it Peter smiled. He halted in his tracks when he recognized that face. Peter's mouth gaped open for only moments before he shook his head. He had to ignore the room intrusion for the moment. THIS WAS ASHTON. Peter frowned slightly in thought that they had already had their first meeting... and in actuality this was the second. He also wondered if Ashton already knew that.
Ashton... Peter said quickly as he drew closer to the cab. He put his hand on the door and looked up to the boy he recognized, that had broken into his room and pinned him against the wall. Peter closed his eyes for just a moment before pressing his lips together and slipping into the cab. He was just glad that he was finally safe.

Ashton tilted his head some giving a small nod. He stepped aside so peter could get in. When peter stopped at the door and looked up at him Ashton looked back at him wondering what he was thinking. He probably was nothing like he was expecting, well... whatever. He watched as Peter closed his eyes, probably from disappointment, ashton wouldnt blame him. Hed probably had some... idea of this really attractive more.. broad guy that could wrap their arms around him and comfort him and actually keep him safe rather then this twelve year old looking stick thing guy who looked liked hed break in half if he was squeezed to hard, or pushed or something, god he didnt know. Someting hin the back of his brain poked at him though as he looked at peters face his large brown velvet eyes cloesd black lashes against pale skin, full lips pressed together. He Frowned unsure what it was. He tried to get it, to figure out what was so important that it kept tugging at him to remember to recognize something, but it just wasnt coming forth. He shook his head some and let out a small sigh.
Peter slipped into the back of the cab then. Ashton glanced around before slipping in as well closing the door and moving just a little ways in so he wouldnt touch the door but there was still space between him and peter. After telling the cab driver where to go He glanced over at peter. He was far more attractive up close. Something in Ashtons body reacted not entirely but enough to know that Ashton woudnt mind at all to get to that fourth date. Of course now that hed met him finally he seriously doubted they would get that far. Ashton had never figured itd get past the first or second meeting. There was no way peter could be attracted physically to him. People can say its not about the phsycial aspects of a person all they want, but it still plays some part in it.
Ashton was getting that feeling again but it just wasnt coming to him. INstead it was just frustrating him. His brows furrowed as he looked down into his lap. His hands straightened the clothe of his jeans, picking at invisable lint. He shouldnt be wondering, but he was. This was the first meeting and peter alreayd didnt seem too thrilled. Granted he didnt expect him to smile and make some exclamation but he was just not sure what the mood was, what the vibe he got from peter was. He shouldnt care. T his wasnt ... supposed to be important not to him, not to his life, but there had been such a build up and in some part of ashton he had let himself hope.. let himself that little bit of excitment and nevousness and now he was damning himself for it. He shouldnt have, he just jinxed it. no wonder it had turned out the way ti was so far. No wonder this was their first meeting and not the one that peter had wanted. Ashton had cursed it from the time he let that start to affect him.
You alright..he finally said looking up at him, his voice a little rougher from having been so quiet for so long. ... peter. his brow quirked up as he continued to watch him, not looking away. He wasnt going to allow this to turn into those awkward moments becuase then it meant ... something more then it should. At least htat was his reasoning right now.
No one... did anything... said anything... while I was .. on my way...... did they?he added on. He really shouldnt be showing this concern it wasnt healthy wasnt good. He might get the wrong ideas. Hell he'll ruin his reputation, not that he had one, but it was going against what he normally did and that was the point. He for some reason just wanted ot hear him talk again. He was so ... . fuck whatever... it wasnt.. he came this way he got him to take him back home and... yeah.
